Merry Christmas, everyone!
Here is an early Christmas present for everyone from all of us at Yandere Translations.
We present to you a SWAN SONG translation patch, version 0.5!

This patch will translate about 50% of the in-game text.
The menu translations are yet to be done, and neither of the endings are translated yet. This version also does not have an installer, so you will need the game installed before you can apply the patch.

To apply the patch, put all 3 files in the zip file into your SWAN SONG game folder (data.xp3 should be overwritten, while patch1.xp3 and patch2.xp3 would just be added into the folder).

Yeah, like the title says. After over a month, I finally have internet at my place. Yay~ You all can blame Qwest’s terrible installation service for my lack of internet all this time.
I’ll start looking over and replying to comments and stuff after finishing other things that take priority. Right now, my first priority is to finish a 10 page paper that’s due tomorrow (which, of course, I didn’t start working on until tonight) then I gotta go translate knk7. Now back to writing my boring paper…

Here’s what been going on recently, and why there hasn’t been much update.
Well, yeah, it’s true that there’s nothing much to update about in the first place…
Anyway long story short, I moved this past week, and the new place has no internet connection until next month. Yeah, it really sucks. So don’t expect much updates on the site the rest of this month.

I’m falling behind news and everything. I guess this means I can concentrate on schoolwork and translating…

Anyway, expect some huge updates sometime next month.

Here is an update patch which fixes the numbers showing up as letters in the English locale and also fixes numerous typos/grammar errors that have been reported.
However, please be aware that the game is meant to be played in Japanese locale or using applocale, and there are places where Japanese font is used in-game which appear as jumble in English locale.

Also, for people having problems starting free-for-all mode. Please keep restarting until the game does not freeze. There’s no way to fix this problem except to untranslate all country names, commander names, and options.

To patch the game, just overwrite the rance7.ain in your Sengoku Rance folder with the one below.
Please note that this is only an update patch to ver 1.0, so please patch the game using ver 1.0 first before using this patch.

If anyone is really annoyed at the occasional freezing in FFA mode and does not care about more things being untranslated, here is a patch that has names and most of the commands untranslated, while keeping the scripts in English. Just overwrite the rance7.ain in your Sengoku Rance folder with the one in the zip file.

I am proud to announce our version 1.00 Sengoku Rance translation patch!!
This is a full patch which translates all the text and images in the game (exceptions listed below).
The patcher/installer can:

• Install the game from the disc.
• Patch the translation over the installed game.
• Will automatically patch ver 1.04 of the game.
• Will automatically patch over any previous translation patches.
• Will keep saves from previous patches and Japanese version.

Please be aware of several known issues in the patch:

• Some country and commander names are left in Japanese to keep the game from crashing.
• “Free for all” mode may freeze on startup. Please keep restarting until it works.
• There is overflowing text in game.
• Fonts may look weird if MS Gothic and MS Mincho fonts are not installed.
• Untranslated Japanese text or SJIS characters will look garbled in the English locale.
• The installer only works on Win2000 and above due to Unicode filenames.
• Save copying from VirtualStore on Windows Vista is not supported.
• The installer renames the saves to make them compatible with the English locale. You may want to make a backup just in case.
• There have been reports of saves not appearing in other locales. If this happens, run the game using AppLocale.
