Sengoku Rance patch version 0.80 release!
I am proud to announce our version 0.80 Sengoku Rance translation patch!!
This is more of an update on the programming side of the game. Here is a list of what has been done:
- Installer/patcher has been created
- A few images has been fixed
- Allows the game to run on English locale
- The installer automatically updates your script to version 1.04 of the game
- Translated task bar
- Fixed bug causing the game to freeze when starting free-for-all mode
- All miscellaneous events are translated
*Please be aware that to fix the FFA bug, some country names had to be reverted back to Japanese.
*The installer renames the saves to make them compatible with the English locale. You may want to make a backup just in case.
*The installer only works on Win2000 and above due to Unicode filenames.
*There have been reports of saves not appearing in other locales. If this happens, run the game using AppLocale.

Thanks guys!
Just to be sure, this is a stand-alone release, right? (meaning the previous patches aren’t required)
July 21st, 2009 at 1:01 am 5
>>santa
Yes. This one is a standalone. You don’t need any other patches with this.

Thanks for the quick reply, TakaJun! <3

Thanks for the release!
The old saved data doesn’t appear if you launch the game without applocale. (I was a bit scared when I noticed this.)

When I installed this update through a Custom Installation, on Windows 7, both the files on the DLL folder and the System40.exe disappeared. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it through the new installer and everything is working fine. I don’t know if it only happened to me, but it’s just to let you know.
Thanks for everything you guys have done!
July 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 am 10
Amazing stamina guys! I am looking forward to the final!!
July 22nd, 2009 at 4:02 am 11
So i no longer need to patch the game to v 1.04 before running the installer?
July 22nd, 2009 at 7:57 am 12
I cannot skip the intro for some reason even how many items I tried. Anyone else having the same problem?
July 22nd, 2009 at 8:09 am 13
Ooops, Solved it, I just found it weird coz I was able to skip it on the 3rd launch not the second one. Thnx for the game and good work ^^
July 22nd, 2009 at 4:21 pm 14
… The save didn’t convert, for me, even when using Applocale.

@GamerOTG, your saves are probably like this “戦国ランス_000.AS2″ and you have to change them to “Rance7_000.AS2″, for example.
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:09 pm 16
an easy way to mass rename 999 save files?
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:29 pm 17
Great work, guys.
Any plans of working on Rance 8 when it’s released? Or Rance 6
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:49 pm 18
I tried to apply the english patch over my existing folder. The new system40.exe is looking for files name Rance7 (e.g. Rance7DLL.inc), while most of my files are still named 戦国ランスDLL.inc
July 22nd, 2009 at 7:12 pm 19
I could fix most problems by changing “戦国ランス” to “Rance7″ for most files. But I can’t figure out what I should rename スタッフ.alm (Staff.alm?)
Also, the font is incorrect when running it in English locale.
I think I’ll try reinstalling it with the 0.8 installer instead of just patching over my old folder.

Mount the Sengoku Rance .iso(if you have it) with Daemon Tools or something then run Sengoku_Rance_English v0.80_[Yandere_Translations].exe quick installation and if you want to use your old saves, do as ManaYagami says. I guess renaming tons of saves can only be manually done
July 22nd, 2009 at 8:52 pm 21
Nice job! no problems running it whit Windows XP
By the way… I can’t beat the game jajaja, but it’s not that bad
it’s like the old one’s, were you have to play and play to beat it.
Keep the good work! because not everybody can come as far as you have
July 23rd, 2009 at 2:38 am 22
About the save conversion. Try copying your saves to a backup directory, doing a fresh install using the English installer, then copying the saves into the SaveData directory, then re-running the patch again. That should rename your saves. I honestly don’t understand why some people are having problems with it. I’ve tested it numerous times in both English and Japanese locales with no problems.

A nice tool to rename lots of files/folders at the same time.
July 23rd, 2009 at 9:19 am 24
hello, thx for the patch!
Someone knows if there is a english patch for Rance VI?
July 25th, 2009 at 10:37 am 25
many thanks!
July 27th, 2009 at 1:43 am 26
I want a mod that lets me have more than 30 officers.
July 28th, 2009 at 6:02 am 27
If someone has problems with the savefiles, just do as
You can use the file renamer programs for renaming many files once.
I recommend that one.
July 28th, 2009 at 7:51 pm 28
When playing, all the numbers involved with searches/Constructions/item counts are in Letter form.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:58 am 29
“KnK6 translated. I’m tired of Nasu…”
Does that mean you have no intention of translating Mahōtsukai no Yoru whenever it comes out?
July 29th, 2009 at 4:34 pm 30
Thanks for KnK6! \(^o^)/
July 29th, 2009 at 10:53 pm 31
>>Kanao
I am not even going to think about translating a game which I have not played yet. For all I know, Mahoyoru may not come out for several more years, or it could turn out to be a huge bust…
As for KnK6… Azaka is MOE. That is all.
July 30th, 2009 at 1:37 pm 32
Guy: I’ve seen that particular issue with a friend of mine. The game runs fine but lots of numbers show up as letters instead. Well not just numbers, for example the ‘???’ event in provinces show up as ‘HHH’ for some reason. It has to do with the locale settings, because running the game with AppLocale in Japanese text mode will cause the text to display correctly.
July 30th, 2009 at 4:25 pm 33
Is this translation compatible with v 1.04?
July 30th, 2009 at 6:08 pm 34
Eh, I’m not sure if this has been brought to your attention or if you’ll even care, but in the .80 release I found a grammatical error. In the true history route when you conquer the Takeda House Baba Shouen says, “You’re just fear death, right?” Obviously it should be “You” instead of “You’re”, just thought I’d mention it, I’m leaning back and basking in the glow that is a 3 turn blitzkriege of Takeda with only 1 unit above 1k troops. (The majority of them were actually around 600ish with the last 2 battles being fought with damaged troops, I couldn’t afford to replenish all my troops every turn. Of course, I’m about to get owned by Uesugi and Iga since I used all my troops for the turn. T-T)

Kara no Kyoukai 6 was awesome. Thanks.
Not sure why I asked that. I guess in my mind you’re the official ‘Type Moon translator’ and I wanted to hear your thoughts on Nasu’s next visual novel.
