Eroge Review (18): Treating2U
Here is a review of Treating2U, made by BLUE GALE.
Overall score: 7/10
Plot summary:
Tsutsumi Inosuke is a musician who makes his living by working at a convenience store. But his life changes when he’s taken to a hospital because of a cold and is told to stay at the hospital. There, he meets many people including a small boy, his mother, the nurses, and other people at the hospital…
*Play time: About 10-15 hours total.
Characters:
Tsutsumi Inosuke: Main character. One of the best main characters I’ve ever seen.
Kawamura Mana: Nurse with short hair. Cheerful and friendly.
Sawada Anna: Nurse with glasses. Clutz, but a hard worker.
Hiura Kayo: Been in hospital a long time. But cheerful.
Kamiyama Ikuno: Scarred. Tsun.
Mujikura Masami: Widow. For once, I actually liked the oldest women in the game the most.
Story: 7/10
The game has a heart-warming story, unlike what you’d expect from one taking place in a hospital. The game focuses on the main character’s interaction with girls, other people at the hospital, and a small boy. The individual routes felt a bit short and convenient, but they were all still pretty good. Now, the awesome part of the game mostly comes from how awesome the main character is. He’s cool, kind, and considerate. He’s one of the best protagonists and the game is worth it just for him alone.
Graphics: 3/10
This is a pretty old game, and you can see that in the graphics. The graphics look old and some CGs and character sprites look outright weird. You’ll probably get used to it, but graphic definitely isn’t the strong point of this game. But it’s not bad enough to detract you from the story itself.
Music: 8/10
The BGMs are pretty normal. They aren’t anything special, but they do their job of adding to the mood of the story. I say there weren’t enough BGMs, though. But what’s good are the two vocal songs. It’s a rarity, but both of the songs are sung by a male singer. They make it sound like the main character is singing the songs in the game, but the songs are amazing. I love the songs and it really adds to the story. If I could ask for more though, I wanted a different song for each of the girls.
System: 3/10
The system is pretty bad, mostly because there’s not much you can choose. From the title screen, you can choose music mode, CG mode, ending and Hscene recollection. This part is good. The bad part is the in-game settings. You only have things like window size, sound effect on/off, BGM on/off, message speed, and font. Oh, there’s no voice in the game. There’s also only 20 save slots. The game also has a bad backlog system. First, you can’t use your mouse wheel to go through it, and it’s the type that only goes back one line at a time. You also can’t get out of backlog mode with left click and it gets really annoying.
Ero: 3/10
Each character has one Hscene with a few CGs to go with it. The Hscenes are decently long and they’re all very normal. It’s nothing outstanding and the game is fine without it, but the scenes do add to the story and show how much they love each other. But other than that, it’s nothing special, and the art makes it below average.
Overall: 7/10
This is a classic. The CGs and the system are old, but the vocal songs and the main character will be worth the play.
Recommended for: People who can appreciate a short story, people who want an awesome protagonist, people who want a warm atmosphere in their games.
Not recommended for: People who want long games, people who want good art, people who want new games, and people who get irritated by a bad game system.
