SWAN SONG patch version 0.5 release!
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Here is an early Christmas present for everyone from all of us at Yandere Translations.
We present to you a SWAN SONG translation patch, version 0.5!
This patch will translate about 50% of the in-game text.
The menu translations are yet to be done, and neither of the endings are translated yet. This version also does not have an installer, so you will need the game installed before you can apply the patch.
To apply the patch, put all 3 files in the zip file into your SWAN SONG game folder (data.xp3 should be overwritten, while patch1.xp3 and patch2.xp3 would just be added into the folder).
Download links:
Direct download (Deleted. Please download the 1.0 patch)
Sendspace (Deleted. Please download the 1.0 patch)
*This is a patch only. You will also need the original game to use the patch.
*Please do not distribute the patch with an illegal copy of the game.
Please contact us in the IRC channel for questions. (#wankoTL on irchighway)
Please use the forum to report any mistakes and bugs.
Big thanks goes to ArchDemon, Balcerzak, Kjoery, Moogy, phiber, SlashZero, TRA, and zalas for making this Christmas release possible!

Merry Christmas to you too, and thanks!
Ho ho ho!
December 15th, 2009 at 6:23 pm 4
Thats awesome!
I love you~
December 15th, 2009 at 6:27 pm 5
Ah, so you were “secretly” translating this game after all, the game must be pretty short after all if your already done translating 50% of the game. Anyways thank for the hard work and keep it up.
Merry Christmas!

I just noticed the SWAN SONG tag was used in the “Sengoku Rance patch version 1.00 release!” post on Oct 10th.
Maybe that was an early hint that TakaJun was working on Swan Song, or was it an innocent mistake?
December 15th, 2009 at 8:59 pm 7
Yay, just in time for the holiday season! So awesome to see this, and I’m really glad that the rumors of you translating it were true.
One question: does this patch work with the Budget Edition rerelease (廉価版) of the game from last year, or only the original from 2005? (And for that matter, does anyone know just what the difference between the two is?)
December 15th, 2009 at 9:26 pm 8
Awesome, would’ve been more awesome if you held it back until it was complete. Still a great ninja release, thanks as always.
December 15th, 2009 at 9:52 pm 9
You sir, are my new object of worship
Thanks
December 15th, 2009 at 11:19 pm 10
Bleh, thought you were translating Majikoi…Not much interest in depressing games with rape and stuff, no matter how good they are.
December 16th, 2009 at 12:40 am 11
One of the best Christmas presents ever… *tears*
December 16th, 2009 at 1:34 am 12
You guys are awesome! Us lowly… urm.. mono-glots are not worthy of this christmas treat. Thanks for not telling us to make our christmas present a surprise.
So thanks.
December 16th, 2009 at 1:35 am 13
This will be a very nice christmas, with SnI, higurashi, swan song, and ef.
Thanks!
December 16th, 2009 at 1:36 am 14
Quite surprising. Even though I won’t start playing without full translation, big thanks to everybody involved and Merry Christmas!
December 16th, 2009 at 1:55 am 15
whoa, it’s quite a surprise.
I thought you guys were translating Majikoi.
December 16th, 2009 at 2:14 am 16
merry x’mas to all people and yet thanks again yandere

“Bleh, thought you were translating Majikoi…”
They never said they weren’t. They’re clearly having problems with the hacking at the moment and it seems TakaJun decided he felt like translating Swan Song while he hasn’t had access to the internet.
Keep up the awesome work YandereTrans! Merry Christmas.

Now this is a good Christmas present. Thanks to everyone on the team for the patch. And Merry Christmas to you too!

>>I just noticed the SWAN SONG tag was used in the “Sengoku Rance patch version 1.00 release!” post on Oct 10th.
Uhh… that was a mistake on my part ^^;
I guess I put it in there by mistake when I was making this post, which I copied from the Sengoku Rance release post.
>>One question: does this patch work with the Budget Edition rerelease (廉価版) of the game from last year, or only the original from 2005? (And for that matter, does anyone know just what the difference between the two is?)
It should work with both. For all I know, there aren’t any differences between the two versions. The budget edition was released since the first version was hard to find.
>>I thought you guys were translating Majikoi.
We still are. Still waiting on hacking. This is more of a side project
December 16th, 2009 at 1:37 pm 20
Your side projects are awesome, apparently.
Thanks a lot!
December 16th, 2009 at 1:47 pm 21
Great that you’re still doing Majikoi. Taking a second look at my earlier post, I realize it came out a bit rude which wasn’t my intention.
December 16th, 2009 at 2:19 pm 22
Swan Song, huh ? Hmm…the Getchu pics look great (great art)…but somehow it looks like a visual novel type of game.
Lots of text, 2 or 3 choices, the end.
Is SS worth importing ?
December 16th, 2009 at 3:25 pm 23
@BSoda
Get the Game it is totally worth the Import.
The story is driven so well and when you make one fatal mistake you will bawl your fricken eyes out and wish you would’ve saved on that last option.
In other cases, it may be so damn horrifying that you’ll want to scoop your eyes out with a spoon. GET IT, NOW!
December 16th, 2009 at 4:48 pm 24
Will soon be able to report for sure as to whether the Budget Edition works, since I just ordered myself a copy
I need to properly thank you guys again. Thanks for this release, and thanks even more for giving us a partial release – it’s a wonderful early Christmas gift.

[...] did (they also did brass restoration, sengoku rance, wankoto kurasou, etc). There’s a 0.5 patch out since yesterday, and I’m really happy because it seems to interesting. Ah, I really can’t wait until [...]
December 17th, 2009 at 2:18 am 26
There are 2 CD version and DVD version. Does this patch work with both version?
December 17th, 2009 at 8:44 am 27
I gotta admit I don’t like Swan Song’s genres and from what I’ve read about it, the story doesn’t save it for my part, but will still read it since there are limited amount of translated VN’s.
Thanks for your hard work Takajun

…
Wait.. So all that drama.. Is actually.. True?
>_<
And here i was worried over nothing..
..
…
Now i feel stupid…
Baah.. 50% already.. Guess we can expect a full patch pretty soon then. Keep up the good work guys.
December 17th, 2009 at 5:23 pm 29
Keefer, that would be the original release and Budget Edition, IIRC. See TakaJun’s reply in comment 19. It should work with both.
Sadly, I can confirm that the patch does not work with the demo.
While I’m at it, I may as well ask a question about the patch available at the game site (top link on http://www.saibunkan.co.jp/lechocolat/soft/ka_swan/dow.html). Namely, what is it for? It says “correction patch” but nothing else. And should we/do we need to apply it to use the English patch?
0verflow’s massive problems with School Days, including patches that overwrite certain scenes so they’re inaccessible, make me nervous about installing company patches, you see :<
December 20th, 2009 at 9:26 am 30
I can confirm the patch works with the original 2 cd version. I installed version 1.00, english patched, and the games runs fine in what seems to be version 1.2. I think I need the first cd in the drive to run though. No bug / crash.
Great translation, ended just where I expected it to as well ! (already played it raw, painful) Eagerly awaiting for more.
December 20th, 2009 at 4:58 pm 31
You guys are heroes.
That is all.
December 21st, 2009 at 8:14 am 32
Budget Edition (1 DVD) patches flawlessly and runs with nothing in the drive. It seems that the version pressed on the disc is 1.2 already, so no need for worries about the patch either.
Can’t wait to get started on this. I’m looking forward to playing it this winter.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:20 pm 33
finally!! thx takajun! i really want this game translated! go for a full translation patch!
